Privacy Policy

How Crest Realty collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information.

Last reviewed: 22 July 2026

1. Our commitment

Crest Realty respects your privacy and handles personal information in accordance with applicable Australian privacy laws, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.

2. Information we collect

Depending on your dealings with us, we may collect your name, contact details, property address and preferences, enquiry history, tenancy or transaction information, identification and verification information, payment details, communications, website usage information and other information reasonably required to provide real estate services.

We generally collect information directly from you. We may also receive it from a co-owner, representative, referrer, property portal, publicly available source, service provider or another party involved in a transaction.

3. Why we collect and use it

We may use personal information to respond to enquiries; market, sell, purchase, lease or manage property; communicate with clients and prospective clients; maintain business records; improve our services; manage safety and security; prevent fraud; verify identity; and comply with legal, regulatory, taxation, trust-account, record-keeping and AML/CTF obligations.

If you do not provide information that is reasonably required, we may be unable to respond fully, provide a requested service or complete a transaction.

4. Disclosure

Where reasonably necessary, we may disclose information to owners, vendors, purchasers, tenants, applicants and their representatives; contractors and tradespeople; strata managers; valuers; photographers; property portals and marketing providers; conveyancers, lawyers, accountants and financial institutions; software, hosting, communications and verification providers; government agencies, regulators and law-enforcement bodies; and other parties authorised or required by law.

5. Overseas handling

Some technology and professional service providers may process or store information outside Australia. The locations can change as suppliers change. We take reasonable steps required by law when engaging providers and can provide further information about our current arrangements on request.

6. Security and retention

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure. We retain information for as long as reasonably required for our functions or by law, then take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it.

7. Access and correction

You may request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct it. We may need to verify your identity and may refuse or limit access where permitted by law, explaining our decision where required.

8. Marketing

Where permitted, we may send information about properties or services that may interest you. You may unsubscribe using the message instructions or contact us. Service and transaction communications may still be sent when necessary.

9. Privacy complaints

Send a privacy concern to the contact details below with enough information for us to investigate. We will acknowledge it, investigate fairly and communicate the outcome. If you remain dissatisfied, you may be able to contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.

10. Changes

We may update this policy when our practices or legal obligations change. The current version and review date will appear on this page.
